Wanna Play Some Wiffle?
Interested in playing in the San Diego wiffleball region of Fast Plastic? Contact Rich Ewald at socalwiffle@hotmail.com with your questions or for more information on how to join the league. Below is some basic information to help you get started:
The League at a Glance
- 2007 Will mark San Diego's first season of official wiffleball, as a member of Fast Plastic.
- Fast Plastic is a nationally renowned wiffleball league, with over 1500 wifflers playing coast to coast in 18 different regions.
- San Diego will host 4 qualifying tournaments to be held some time between May and August of 2007.
- The entry fee is $100 per team, per tournament and payment must be received in full at least one week prior to said tournament. If a team pre-pays for all 4 tournaments by April 15th, 2007, the cost will be reduced to $300 total (a savings of $100).
- San Diego's tournaments will follow the official Fast Plastic rules (see Fast Plastic link or go to www.fastplastic.net for more information on Fast Plastic and it's official wiffleball rules).
- Any San Diego teams with high enough Fast Plastic ranking (based on Fast Plastic criteria), will be invited to play in the Wiffleball National Championship Tournament held at the end of the season.
What I Need to Do to Get Started
- Contact Rich Ewald at socalwiffle@hotmail.com to find out more information and to join the league.
- Form your own team of between 3 and 5 wifflers, or if you don't have a full squad of your own, contact Rich Ewald at socalwiffle@hotmail.com to declare your free agency and he'll try to hook you up with other wifflers to form a team.
- Familiarize yourself with Fast Plastic's official wiffleball rules. Click on the Fast Plastic link or go to www.fastplastic.net to read up on the rules.
- Contact Rich Ewald at socalwiffle@hotmail.com to try to arrange to meet up for a wiffleball practice or practice game, to see what the game is all about.
- Get the necessary equipment together for your wiffleball team (wiffle balls and wiffle bats). See Fast Plastic rules for equipment regulations or contact Rich Ewald at socalwiffle@hotmail.com for more information.
- Send your payment of $100 per team in at least 1 week prior to each tournament, or save your team some cash by pre-paying $300 by April 15th to cover the costs of all four tournaments (a savings of $100).
- Show up to the tournaments and be ready for some fun times!
